A few observations
- Russia won’t be attacking anything; most Russians are too busy trying to survive from one day to another to start a war
- the manic in the Kremlin is only in power because Russians are so weak and downtrodden
- the maniac in the Kremlin doesn’t attack strong countries in strong alliances with other strong countries like NATO.
- now that Finland is in NATO and Sweden has practically joined, both are targets for massive Kremlin propaganda campaigns designed to weaken and disorientate with fear. Stay strong, stay focused and don’t worry about Russia.

I keep hearing about this in the press, but just can not see any advantage to Russia in attacking NATO. Most of the aggression seems to have come from NATO towards Russia.
Unless you count Russia constantly moving its borders closes to NATO bases over the last 30 years.

As mediocre as the Russian military is in terms of quality, they still have nuclear weapons in volume (including those surrendered by Ukraine in return for security assurances). It has to be assumed that they know where most of them are and that they don't all have wildlife living in them. So the threat always has to be taken seriously. Fortunately NATO has continued to expand and remain vigilant
Hopefully before it comes to a nuclear exchange, calmer heads will have prevailed in the Kremlin and Putin will have received a well deserved chill pill of the kind that's made of lead and applied behind the ear.

That is the sort of bullshit that Sergei Lavrov would say. I expect to read support for Russian views like this on sites like Hindustan Times. NATO getting nearer to Russia is caused by countries who have lived under Russian Imperialism and would prefer not to go back under it's yoke. They apply to join because of this fear and could leave any time
